云锦因“灿若云霞”而得名，居中国“四大名锦”之首，素为皇家御用贡品。云锦历经元、明、清三代繁盛后，到清末时期逐渐萧条，手工艺人纷纷转行，云锦技艺一度濒临失传。新中国成立后，党和政府极为重视云锦的保护与继承，1957年，经江苏省政府批准，南京云锦研究所成立，这是新中国第一家工艺美术类研究所。作为全国唯一的云锦专业研究机构，他们承担起云锦保护和继承的重任。
20世纪80年代初，南京云锦研究所接到一个大项目——为定陵博物馆复制明代万历皇帝龙袍袍料。在云锦织造中，织龙袍的水平最高，需要一次“织成”。为保证织品质量与工艺，周双喜和研究所的技术人员一遍遍到地宫里查看龙袍原件，整整5年，周双喜和同事们苦思冥想、仔细钻研，终于成功复制出400年前的皇家龙袍。这项任务让他们获得了30万元的项目拨款，同时也为研究所和云锦技艺提供了转型之机。研究所利用这笔款项建立起云锦工艺基地，修建了织锦陈列馆，更新了制造设备，逐渐锻造出一支优秀的人才队伍。看着云锦复制品被庄重地保存进陈列馆，时任所长汪印然深感欣慰地说：“这个项目，拯救了整个云锦技艺。”
复制龙袍的过程，也让周双喜真正感受到云锦之美，他愈发坚定自己要潜心研究云锦的信念。除复制出堪称国宝的“织金孔雀羽妆花纱龙袍料”“黄地织金妆花缎过肩通袖直身龙栏袍料”外，周双喜等人又成功复制了举世闻名的文物“素纱襌衣”。
从南京云锦研究所当学徒，到成为国家级非遗传承人，周双喜凝聚匠心，用双手织出璨烂星华，为国家抢救复制了一大批具有极高文物价值的云锦，填补了云锦研究领域的空白，受到文物专家们的高度评价。
如今，周双喜被授予各种荣誉称号,“中国织锦工艺大师”“国家级非物质文化遗产南京云锦木机妆花手工织造技艺代表性传承人”“江苏省工艺美术大师”等。面对这些荣誉，他只是淡淡一笑：“我真没想到自己会成为大师，唯一的捷径是这么多年就做这一件事情，最起码我能把这个道理说懂，就是这样。几十年坚持下来也是非常不容易的。一辈子做一件事，做什么都是大师。”

近期我公司有幸征集到一幅南京云锦国家级非遗传承人周双喜老师的《桃鹤益寿图》，锦面典藏尺寸：31cm x 31cm。藏品《桃鹤益寿图》运用南京云锦传统妆花织造技艺，用料极为考究，采用桑蚕丝、金线等材料织造而成。锦面以传统中国红色为底色，选用仙鹤和寿桃为主图案，画面中鹤展翅高飞，口衔寿桃，加上四周金彩交织的朵朵祥云，颜色层次丰富，动感十足，表达出美好的寓意。在古代，鹤享有一品鸟的尊崇地位，羽毛雪白，体态优雅，代表吉祥长寿，常喻修身洁行品德高尚的贤能之士。藏品格调高雅、清新脱俗，蕴含深厚的文化底蕴，让尘封在玻璃柜后的民族瑰宝重获新生，象征着民族的文化自信。
